Two things I love about this webinar. First, it’s an incredibly important topic that is imperative that we make progress on quickly (unfortunately I'm not sure "solve" is even on the table anymore). Second, it features two of my favorite people who happen to also be amazing healthcare executives. This is definitely worth tuning in for!https://lnkd.in/eeueSPND

Why should accreditation matter for healthcare organizations?Accreditation is a strategic investment decision that helps all healthcare organizations live up to and surpass their expectations. It’s not just so simple being accredited; it’s also related with who accredits. Because, any accreditation acts as a hallmark of approval, ensuring that healthcare organizations meet specific standards set by reputable accrediting bodies. Plus, accreditation is a public recognition, demonstrated through an independent external survey of any organization’s level of performance in relation to the standards. For example, would you trust your health to a surgeon who obtained degree from a non-accredited, possibly online, medical school?Of course not! Exactly likewise, accreditation provides assurance that professionals have undergone rigorous privileging, credentials check to meet recognized standards of excellence. When it comes to choosing an accrediting body, it’s also crucial to select one that is recognized and/or accredited. This ensures that the accrediting body adheres to strict standards, has qualified surveyors, and operates under continuous scrutiny. That’s why strive for excellence and seek accreditation from esteemed accrediting bodies. By doing so, we enhance our professional reputation, build client trust, and contribute to the advancement of our respective fields. Remember, when it comes to accreditation, it’s not just about being accredited; it’s about the credibility and trust that come with it. Once a quarter, we spend time as a team focusing on education and innovation. We discuss what we’re learning from our most complex patient cases and the innovations we’re rolling out to strengthen care access, delivery and outcomes. So it was especially rewarding to receive this letter from a patient this week, who placed the note on Dr. Mary Tilak's desk after an appointment.“Dear Dr. Tilak,You have been our lucky star.First of all, you are brighter and far more intelligent than most specialists.Secondly, you take immediate healing steps for your patients. Finally, you are our G.P.How did we get so fortunate?Thank you always. Live long and prosper.”"The greatest compliment any physician and team can receive is a positive embrace from a patient, and that shows we are human,” says Mary Tilak MD, MBA. “This message had far more meaning to me than it seems on the surface," she said. "This patient is very grateful to the specialists who have been instrumental in managing her complex lung condition. But she felt the impact of a strong ‘Primary Care Quarterback.’ The PCP can be the informed advocate for the patients and create the best pathway for managing complex and chronic conditions in a patient-centered manner, enhancing value through improved outcomes and controlled total cost of care.”With healthcare being so complex by its own evolution and now with added consumerism and the pressure to control cost and improve outcomes, every healthcare team needs purpose, perseverance and strong leadership. This note and many others from our valued patients tell us we have what it takes to drive transformation in healthcare. What is the best compliment you’ve received as a physician or clinician? And, what fills your cup?#healthcare #ptexp #patientexperience #value #innovation #patientexperience

"I really believe healthcare will bankrupt our country if we don't change the way it is delivered and the cost structure of the way it's delivered." – Alice L. Walton, Philanthropist & Founder of Alice L. Walton School of Medicine At HLTH USA 2023, Alice Walton underscored the urgent need to rethink how we approach healthcare. We shouldn't be waiting for people to get sick - our focus needs to shift toward preventative care and value-based models that prioritize long-term health and wellness over costly interventions. It’s time to invest in the future of healthcare where we measure success by patient outcomes, not just treatments. This means embedding value-based care into medical education now, so tomorrow’s healthcare leaders are ready to drive real change - before it’s too late. We're continuing this crucial conversation at HLTH USA 2024.
